Frequently Asked Questions

Is an unworked regular holiday paid?+
Yes. An employee who does not work on a regular holiday is paid 100% of the daily rate, if they are present or on paid leave on the workday immediately before the holiday. A special non-working holiday that is not worked is unpaid unless a company policy, contract, or collective bargaining agreement says otherwise.
Does night differential stack on holiday pay?+
Work from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM adds 10% of the hourly rate on top of the holiday or overtime rate. The overtime calculator applies that on the day type you pick.
